PU’s green drive on right track

In order to make Panjab University (PU) campus environment-friendly, top university officials stepped out of their air-conditioned offices and rode bicycles today.
The cycle rally, which started from the Administrative Block, traversed girls’ hostels, PU market complex and Gandhi Bhawan and finally culminated at the Vice- Chancellor’s office.

Professor Karamjeet Singh, Registrar, PU, informed about receiving 25 bicycles under the corporate social responsibility (CSR) from Stock Holding Corporation of India.
The rally was led by PU VC Prof Raj Kumar.

Dean of University Instructions Prof Shankarji Jha, Dean Student Welfare Prof Emanual Nahar, Dean Student Welfare (W) Prof Neena Capalash and Controller of Examination Prof Parvinder Singh, among others, also participated in the event.

Prof Raj Kumar urged everyone to use bicycles on the varsity campus to protect the environment.
